Cinco de Mayo Luncheon at Cosme

Tequila Casa Dragones was honored to join the New York-based Consul General of Mexico Sandra Fuentes, New York’s Office of the Mayor representative Danny Kadishson, and US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce representative Alejandro Ramos in a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage at Cosme in New York. At the annual Cinco de Mayo luncheon Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco was crafted into three signature cocktails, the “Tommy’s Style Margarita,” the “Cosme Paloma,” and the Dragones on the Rocks.

Showcasing Mexican Designers

In honor of Mexican craftsmanship, Tequila Casa Dragones joined Dallas luxury retailer Forty Five Ten’s Cinco de Mayo celebration, showcasing the work of four top Mexican designers. Forty Five Ten’s owner, Brian Bolke hosted former Vanity Fair editor Ceciia de Sola and former W magazine accessories director Karla Martinez as they presented their fashion line, Piamita. Home accessories designer Jan Barboglio displayed her collection, Sara Beltran showcased her beach inspired Dezso fine jewelry line, while perfumer and architect Carlos Huber presented his fragrance line Arquiste.  Guests enjoyed the Honey Dragon Margarita while DJ Lucy Wrubel entertained guests at the Terrace of The Joule in Dallas. To commemorate the occasion, four Joven bottles, personalized with “Forty Five Ten,” were created.

Joshua Bell Cinco de Mayo Education Through Music Benefit

Tequila Casa Dragones brought together award-winning violinist Joshua Bell and celebrated Mexican Chef Enrique Olvera for an unforgettable celebration of Cinco de Mayo. The unprecedented evening was held at Bell’s Manhattan residence and benefited Education Through Music—a New York City based nonprofit that provides music education to disadvantaged schools. Bell treated his guests to an intimate performance that even included traditional Mexican folk music and Estrellita by famed Mexican composer Manuel María Ponce Cuéllar. Chef Enrique Olvera prepared a special menu for the guests, provided by his New York restaurant Cosme—recently named best new restaurant by the New York Times. Olvera’s exceptional menu was paired with Tequila Casa Dragones Joven and included dishes like uni tostada with avocado and bone marrow salsa and a husk meringue corn mousse.

Unforgettable Weekend with Top Chef Mexico

To continue to promote young emerging Mexican talent and to celebrate Tequila Casa Dragones being featured in episode 8 of Top Chef Mexico, we hosted special guests to a culinary-filled weekend in our hometown of San Miguel de Allende. Following a tasting and demonstration of our pepita engraving, guests were invited to a special screening of this episode and pairing dinner at the historic bull-fighting ring in San Miguel de Allende. Top Chef contestants, Matteo Salas, Chef Irving Quiroz and Katsuji Tanabe prepared a pairing dinner inspired by the tasting notes of Tequila Casa Dragones Joven. Guests included Casa Dragones’ CEO Bertha González Nieves, Top Chef judge Chef Martha Ortiz from one of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants Dulce Patria, media influencers, and Mexican government officials. As Mexico’s culinary scene takes center stage globally, we are honored to be a part of this movement as we continue to be the preferred tequila of the culinary industry.

Vogue All Access Conference

Casa Dragones CEO Bertha González Nieves and Mexican interior designer, Gloria Cortina joined the Vogue All Access Conference to discuss Mexico’s role in the international luxury market. The unscripted “fireside chat”, hosted by GQ México and Vogue México, joined a conference of panel discussions, held at the St. Regis Hotel in Mexico City featuring leaders in the luxury industry. Other panelists of the conference included Karen SerdioArture VelascoAlberto Bross, and Jorge Escamilla Ruiz. In collaboration, Dolce & Gabbana Intense, launched their newest fragrance, “Intenso,” with Brand Ambassador Colin Ferrell. Attendees and presenters were also treated to exquisitely prepared appetizers, courtesy of chef Elena Reygadas of Rosetta in Mexico City.

Sashimi of Kampachi with Kumquats

Executive Chef Micheal Rotondo of the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco’s Parallel 37 restaurant, is known for crafting special dishes with hyper-seasonal ingredients found only in the San Francisco Bay area, and the Sashimi of Kampachi with Kumquats dish is no different. Kampachi is a local yellowfish, whose light, nutty flavor is enhanced by the tart sweetness of kumquats and balanced by the crisp flavor of Tequila Casa Dragones Joven.

Wild Fruit Soup with Rose Infused Macaroon

Top Chef Mexico contestant and renowned Mexican pastry Chef Irving Quiroz recreates the same delicate dessert that won him top spot on the episode in which it was featured. This time, Chef Quiroz pairs the dessert with Casa Dragones Joven, assembling an olive oil biscuit with piloncillo (a Mexican brown sugar) in a fruit purée created from locally sourced raspberries, strawberries and red wine, and finished with a rose-infused macaroon. The rose and honey aromas of the macaroon pair perfectly with Casa Dragones’ delicate notes of pear.

Agave Organico

Adam Baca, mixologist at La Esquina in New York City, was inspired by Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco’s citrus profile when he created his signature cocktail, Agave Organico, mixing Casa Dragones Blanco, a house made blood orange spice tincture, and lime.

La Piñata

The peppery notes of Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco inspired mixologist Matthew Leatherman in his creation of the La Pinata for the Gordon Bar at Sixty Soho Hotel. Leatherman combined muddled cucumber with a slow cooked habanero agave to play off the Casa Dragones Blanco’s sweet agave notes for a bright, refreshing summer cocktail.

The Red Dragon

Mixologist Nick Mantzaridis of Miami’s Beaker and Grey crafts The Red Dragon with ginger and fresh lemon juice which marries perfectly with the light citrus notes in Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco for a refreshing and light summer cocktail.
